Restarting care delivery operations in the midst of surge will require a different approach to healthcare delivery. COVID-19 has devastated the operations of many health systems across the US, and rebuilding volumes will take an integrated approach with future uncertainty. As health systems continue to adapt and recover, we inspect three areas of considerations that may assist with a safe restart of key healthcare services: resumption of postponed elective surgeries and procedures, provision of ongoing emergency support services to consumers, and organizational support for telehealth services.
