The global pandemic forced store closures in all but “essential businesses,” and stay-at-home requirements across the country have brought about a step-function shift in retail channel mix: away from traditional bricks-and-mortar stores to ecommerce. During the COVID-19 period (starting in early March), ecommerce sales have increased over 50 percent.
